Somaly Mam as a Bodhisattva
I went to Library Building, Room LB14, and Dr. Meg Tarafdar gave a lecture about “Somaly Mam as a Bodhisattva”. First, she told us about the term “Bodhisattva” was “Bodhi (Enlightened) + Sattv (Being). Then she told us about The Buddha taught four truths about life: There is suffering, there is a cause for suffering, there is an end of suffering, and there is a path of practice that puts an end to suffering. Overall, she told us Somaly Mam as a Bodhisattva because Somaly Mam suffering at first for prostitute and there is a cause for her to suffer she is poor her family sold her, and her suffer is ended already she gets money runaway, now she is helping other girls as a path of practice that puts an end to suffering so they won’t suffer like her.
Movie “Trade of Innocents”
I went to Library Building, Room LB14, and saw a movie “Trade of Innocents”. This movie was made in 2012, and took place in Bangkok, Thailand. In this movie, lead investigator “Alex” tried to find evidence of crime and caught “Duke” Pimp-bad guy. Police Captain was corrupt because he got money from “Duke”. Then Alex couldn`t catch Duke. Reason for Alex and other people from other countries is they have some things bad happen relate to them. For example, Alex`s daughter was kidnapped by bad guy. Alex`s wife also did something good. Such as: gather women and girls and told them about her daughter and etc. At the last, Alex was in the right place and did right thing so he can save his wife and a girl, unlike the time his daughter was kidnapped. Overall, it is good movie, and Police Captain said “To survive, it is best to remain silent” this means a person sees something he shouldn`t see, then this person keeps silent and pretends he didn`t see it so he can survive because if he says so, something bad will happen to him. I really feel this world is like this now, so human trafficking still happen in this world.
Human Trafficking in our Own Backyard

So I’m worrying about my younger sister only 5 or 6 years old. And I got a phone number which is 18883737788 I can call if I see something like human trafficking.
